Beach villa Morocco - With the sea lapping at the shores some 40 metres or so from the terrace of Villa Dar L' Oussia, this is a very special property located near the seaside village of Aglou, south of Agadir on the Moroccan coast. A high standard of accommodation is offered throughout, whilst furnishings and ornaments have been locally sourced to offer an authentic taste of Berber style.
There are four individually themed bedrooms, with Egyptian cotton sheets and Hungarian goose down duvet and pillows, whilst twin beds can also be made into doubles; thus offering flexibility in sleeping numbers. The double bedroom was intended by the owner to be also used for disabled guests: there are wider doorways and a wet room with shower, whilst access doorways have ramps (please ask for specific details in the event a member of your party is disabled). Water comes direct from the Atlas mountains and is solar heated.
There are various modern conveniences for the added comfort of guests including flat screen television with sky channels, a selection of DVDs and wireless broadband internet.
There are restaurants, grocers and a bakers within 3 kms (possible to walk to via the beach!) whilst at the harbour one can buy fresh fish, squid and lobster (seasonal). The nearby walled city of Tiznit which is famous for its silver souks, also has colourful fish, meat, spice and vegetable markets as well as a weekly market where local farmers come to sell their wares. Tiznit retains the character of the old Morocco with its bustling atmosphere and in the evenings, people assemble in the main square to listen to story tellers, magicians and hawkers. Mirleft, some 27 kms south of Aglou, is overlooked by an old French fort and provides authentic French Moroccan restaurants and a market each Monday. Agadir is a major resort area with a number of attractions including the old city, beach hotels and a Carrefour. There are about 60 kilometres of virtually deserted beach (save for fishermen) whilst activities include quad biking, fishing, surfing, walks, hamman and massage, shopping, horse riding and various cultural sightseeing opportunities. Within 35 minutes is the National park of Massa, an ornithologist' s paradise with over 250 species of birds, including the very rare bald headed Ibis.
